In the age of smart phones and I-watches, we feel that the simplistic beauty of clocks has been slightly forgotten. Functional art, thats what we like to call them here. For most of us, they are a constant reminder that we are at least 5 minutes behind schedule - we advise you to make that fact aesthetically appealing where you can.
1 // BALANCE
Balance is key to life, we’ve heard it before. Sadly, its not our prerogative to tell you how to balance your life, so we’ll keep to clocks and cushions. Colour balance is relatively foolproof – pick a colour and disperse it evenly throughout your space. Try to use varied shades, intensities and textures when implementing colour balance - your interior space should never look too uniformed. If you’re a genuine crazy cat, try choosing two or three main colours for your room palette and spread these colours throughout the space.
2 // MIX ‘EM
Why not try integrating your clock in with other prints and art works to create an eclectic look. We recommend using pieces that are of equally stylish, but the genuine consensus is that clocks mixed with other framed works can look ace.
3 // BEFORE YOU PUT NAILS IN THE WALL
Sort of like our freestanding print look - only it’s a clock (genius we know). You can place your clock on the shelf of a bookcase or storage unit for a contemporary and relaxed look. The ideal solution for those with stringent landlords - no holes in walls is good, no?
And that’s about all one person can say about clocks in one post. Clocking off now…
