When you walk into someone’s home, or even your own for that matter – during the season of flowers and everything joy, you want to evoke that exact feeling.
In this image the gorgeous blush pink couch (Couch: Click on furniture) is being highly emphasised, bringing a fresh and sweet feel. With the added plumpness of decorative cushions – gives the look of comfort in a real modern and luxurious direction. Don’t be afraid to mix different sizes, textures and patterns of cushions, it really livens up the place and it’s like each cushion has a different story to tell. Another awesome tip is decorative cushions is one of the easiest ways to update your home for the new season! (Cushions from Art Club Concept – Indi, Iris, Sunday, Another Love, Crossroads decorative cushions).
Layering is a massive trend for the year 16’ so the trick to this dreamy trend is to layer for a look that’s suitable for real life. So don’t forget to chuck a throw onto the couch to give it that final ‘homely’ touch and let your visitors feel welcome and comfortable to sit down (Throw: The Woollen Collective).
Stroking your feet through a fluffy rug after a long day (Rug: House of Orange) whilst walking to the couch brings cosiness and comfort. So why not have a minimal neutral rug that does exactly what it’s meant to do; look and feel good.
To make the space just that smidge more functional and stylish, coffee tables are a must! Of course making sure it’s suitable for your living room environment – coffee tables provides an extra space to put your drinks or magazines on, catches the eye, and sometimes even offers some additional internal storage space. So in the image we have placed 3 tables that are used to it’s ability. All tables placed to finalise the space, one at the front of the couch (Click On Furniture), a little round table (Zakkia Side table & Container) and lastly the one at the back (MRD home). As you can see they are all neutral as it allows it to remain used in any season and can easily be moved around. Each has it’s own purpose and is used as so.
If all your main pieces of your living space are done and you’re satisfied, don’t forget the final touches of the overall space. We’re talking all décor’s that can be placed basically anywhere you’d like. When choosing décor make sure pieces are all various sizes, just to give a little depth into your space. Things that are on trend at the moment is everything marble (Marble Basics), pot plants (Plants: Maud & May) (Vase: Middle of Nowhere) and the most important – personal ornaments that mean something to you – let these things be conversation starters and let stories unravel. If you get a little stuck on where to get some décor even try Neutral Instincts or Norsu.
Are your walls looking a little bland? Not to worry! Hang some artwork to fill the space. Make sure it’s art that you love and can look at everyday. You can have as much framed/unframed work (H&G Designs) as you wish! Making sure placement is correct – consider spaces in between each artwork. A cool grid layout would be really inviting and something visitors will enjoy to look at! In the image above we used our very own art club pieces (Wall art: Free spirit, Infinite Dreamer contemporary wall art).
