The battle of the bed and yourself – waking up and walking away from a bed of clouds is hard enough but to then contemplate if it’s worth cleaning up is a whole other argument.
It’s a hard room to maintain because you use it so much! From sleeping, changing clothes and shoes, reading, working and sometimes even eating (Bad habits). When we were younger we wouldn’t care about it but now that we’re a little wiser (& older) it kind of makes us feel organized and on time when leaving the house with a tidy bed.
But is it worth it? Some of you may ask what’s the point, if you’re just going to mess it up again in a few hours?’ Although this is 100% true – after a long day wouldn’t you prefer to enter a room with a tidy bed? It’s more of a mental and emotional satisfaction. It was found on a survey that that bed makers are more likely to get a better night sleep (webmd survey.com) How crazy is that, who knew? But don’t get it twisted there’s no exact science on how to clean your bed – whatever makes you satisfied and pleased is definitely the direction you take! Whether its just quickly straightening the pillows or chucking the blanket over the bed – we call that the ‘messy clean’ look.
Depending on the amount of pillows and detail you put into cleaning your room, it may seem like setting up your bed may take forever, although it only takes us 3-5 minutes. So 3-5 minutes off your morning = one awesome sleep. There’s an easy equation we can all solve.
So here’s some advice:
There is nothing to complain about when you have a made bed, fresh sheets and a bed as comfortable as a cloud.
Always remember that your sleeping environment actually does affect your sleep.
