FEELING THE CUSHION LOVE

We believe there’s no such thing as too much – the more the merrier! If you, like us, can’t get enough of our cushions, don’t hold yourself back. Cushions are our bread and butter when it comes to styling interiors. Below are ways to make sure each and every one is feeling the love.
In the bedroom //
On the bed we do love nothing more than crisp white bed sheets to show off printed cushions – perfect for daydreaming or an afternoon snooze. Or play with textures, colours and prints – there’s nothing to say you can’t clash a smaller geometric print for your bedspread with a bigger bolder geometric cushion to add some drama. Up against a headboard it really pops to line cushions behind your pillows.
In the living room //
Work the couch. Don’t be afraid to stuff it full of cushions layered from every corner, big, small, prints, plain or textured. Makes for a perfect cosy spot for those lounging days at home. Or throw them on the floor! A fresh alternative to chairs – have them in a pile for people to sit on the floor and lean against. You can also stack ‘em high – on a chair or stool, stack two or three and have them on display. Rotate them around, mix it up, there are no rules. Play with tones and prints – a more neutral backing cushion lets a statement cushion stand out.
In the dining room //
When having a dinner party, ensure guests are comfortable by placing a cushion on each chair. You can then also layer this with a sheepie to combat a stiffer chair or a throw blanket to keep the cold at bay when dining Al Fresco.
Miscellaneous //
Spruce up a wire basket by stuffing a couple of cushions in it and placing next to the couch or in a corner. Or take one to the office to show your space some love!
When layering cushions and mixing it up try different shapes, colours, textures and prints. Be mindful when using prints though to ensure they draw out one of the base colours of the room (such as grey or cream) to keep it looking congruent. One last thing; to keep it from looking too put-together, use an odd number of cushions when grouping. And there you have it – interior styling like a boss!
